Here is a quick update on the work we accomplished this semester at the University of Arizona:
- Hunger & Homelessness: We were able to collect non-perishable food items for the Community Food Bank by placing donation boxes in Forbes! We raised awareness of the issue of food insecurity on our campus by making class announcements and collaborating with other student groups.
- Break Free From Plastics: We got over 100 signatures for our Break Free From Plastics campaign! Students, faculty, and staff from the University of Arizona showed great support for eliminating unnecessary single use plastics on our campus. We are also working with Students For Sustainability on plans to progress the campaign next semester.
- COVID Education: We worked with community and campus partners to ensure that students had reliable information about the COVID-19 vaccine! In Pima County, we reached over 14,000 students through class announcements, social media, and emails!
We’re so excited about all the things we were able to accomplish this semester and are looking forward to hitting the ground running next year! Want to learn more about getting involved? Fill out this interest form.
Our campaigns next semester:
- Hunger & Homelessness: We’ll continue to address food and housing insecurity on and off campus by organizing service projects, fundraising drives, and educational awareness events!
- New Voters Project: We’re relaunching our campaign to ensure every student knows when, where, and how to vote in the 2022 primaries by working with campus partners to register students to vote and institutionalize civic engagement at UA!
- Break Free From Plastics: We’ll also work with ASUA and campus partners to pass a resolution to phase out unnecessary single-use plastics on campus!
Get involved with these campaigns and apply for an internship for next semester!
Good luck with finals,
