Giving Tuesday is a day dedicated to supporting organizations and causes that are working to build the future you believe in.

Today, we’re asking Student PIRG supporters to pitch in to help us build a greener, healthier, and more representative future.

For 50 years, the Student PIRGs have engaged students on college campuses to provide them with the skills and training they need to make an impact. 

This past year we helped support student organizers by: 

  • Recruiting and developing student leaders. More than 3,000 students got involved with our program across the country. We helped students take more than 102,000 campaign actions to fight for a shared vision of a better future.
  • Took the support we built to State Capitols and won concrete campaign victories, by passing:
    • Right to Repair bills in Oregon and Washington
    • $500,000 for Hunger Free Campuses in Massachusetts
    • Bee-Friendly City Initiatives in New Jersey
    • Updated plastic bag bans in California and Oregon
    • Public lands protections with new National Monuments
  • Serving the community. We gave back and did more than 1,000 hours of service, donated more than 10,000 items of food, clothing, and basic necessities, and raised money and volunteered for hurricane and fire relief.

Support our work for the future! Next year we are running campaigns to:

  • Eliminate plastic and clothing waste that pollute our open spaces and water ways
  • Protect our wildlife by passing laws to create safe crossings for wildlife like the North Carolina red wolf and the Florida panther
  • Alleviate issues of hunger, poverty, and homelessness in our campus communities.
  • Make textbooks affordable by encouraging campus stakeholders and students to use affordable open educational resources
  • And more!
