Something big is happening in our democracy – young people are voting. Our turnout increased for the 2008 elections—continuing a trend of growing youth voter participation.
Now it’s time to do it again!
Across the country, Student PIRGs volunteers helped over 30,000 students register to vote, and already an additional 15,000 students have signed our pledge to vote.
Between now and Election Day we’ll be talking to tens of thousands more to remind them to vote – in class, on the quad, in the dorms, from texts to calls, and on Facebook and Twitter – students talking to students. Together, we can turn out the youth vote.
For years politicians haven’t paid attention to young voters or the issues that concern us most. By voting, we can make sure they listen to us!
